If the repeating lasts forever you can take breaks whenever you like. You are no longer limited so you can do it at your own pace.
I think it means you have to do rail yard everyday now.

Oh no! I haven't done the railyard in over a month now. I would rather pay 5 donuts each week if that is the cost. :D
I took a break from my break and used the double rewards to help reduce my vastly overflowing dump and gained about 20D from it...
