What is everyone doing to prepare your town for the inevitable snowfall?

I have hit the plunger and cleared a couple of areas expecting new buildings, hoping we get the hinted at Mall. I hope too that we get at least one more strip of land. If not, I think I have enough space for whatever comes. I have a very cramped Christmas/winter area and have earmarked buildings next to it to move to the new strip if we get one. Then I can add any new Christmas type stuff to the Christmas area and start redesigning it. I am ready to go.
