In January of 2014, our six year old daughter was going to have a fairly major surgery. So I loaded up my kindle fire with a bunch of games that I picked from the app store to occupy her during her hospital stay. Tapped Out was one that I thought would be fun for her, but unfortunately the hospital's wifi was near unusable, so it didn't get to be played. It wasn't until February that I decided to tap the icon with Homer on it, right in the midst of the Valentines event. I had no idea what to do, but I enjoyed doing it. By the time the Easter event came around, I had my wife hooked as well. That's when I found these forums, and started to figure out the whole neighborino thing. We each wound up doing so-so in the event, but luckily each wound up with the faberge egg. Stonecutters sealed the deal with us (please, EA, bring back that gameplay style, if only for one more event). My first major purchase was the All Seeing Eye at 100 donuts. Then, at the end of April, I sprung on $10 worth of donuts as a surprise for my wife's birthday. That unleashed the need for donuts and content for both of us. Now, roughly $3,000 dollars between us has been invested in TSTO, and now we farm donuts guilt-free, as we know we've earned it. I love this game, and I love this community. My problem now is that life has become more involved, and I'm amassing all the content there is, with no time to design. Ah well, I could think of worse problems to have, I guess.
