Besides a neighbor being inactive what are some other reasons you've dropped them?I just unfriended a guy because I noticed he spelled out support of a certain person for the 2020 election. Petty, I know, but that's my choice. (And yes, I looked at the surrounding area to see if it was part of a theme for that area of his town, but no, it was clearly just a message to visitors.)

i once dropped a nosy neighbor for invading my privacy.

If I had all the time in the world I'd redesign my town as an exact replica of a friend's town, just to mess with them when they visited.

Lag. For whatever reason, some neighbor towns become very difficult to navigate because of a lag issue in their particular Springfield. If they've been a good, long-term neighbor I'll hide their town for a month or two and check back in on them. If the situation has resolved itself then it's all good. However, from what I've seen, most neighbor towns that start lagging rarely ever stop lagging. When that's the case, I have to drop them.

Inactivity. I want my neighbors to be active, and play the events like I do.My tolerance for inactivity is 4 weeks/1 month.

I deleted the neighbors who were engaged in cheating (hacking).

What's caused you to drop a neighbor?

They probably have the animations for their I&S Land rides turned on. I turned mine off more for my visiting neighbors' sake than my own (although, in the rare times I have to pay using a device other than my iPad, those rides cause problems for me, too).

How the heck do you turn them off???

Tap on each of the 3 main buildings and a menu will come up.

Inactivity is the main reason. Unlike some of you who give the player a month or two I don't. A few days without playing and he's ouuutttaaaa here! There's plenty of players who are active that'll fill that spot.
