I don't buy donuts but for my bday in April I received a $50 app store gift card and spent $24.99 for 300 donuts. I held off redeeming the rest because I didn't wanna be tempted to buy stuff cause I wanted to keep it for Halloween. Now I went to redeem my donuts and 300 donuts costs $30.99?! This sucks :(
I just did a Google search, asking why online purchases cost more in Australia. I found news articles stating the AUS govt lowered some threshold, effectively raising taxes on international online purchases.
So it could be that. - Willy9292New HotshotI remember a couple of price changes in $CDN in the lat year. The first was right after black Friday sale and a Gill sale on donuts I believe.
- Happened quite a while ago here in Canada. Corresponded to the dropping value in Canadian dollar. All prices were increased outside US around the same time as well.
Keep in mind that the price is set by Google, Apple and Amazon. EA does not control the price as we are not actually making the purchase directly from them.
There was a media article around that time stating it was due to exchange rates and taxes. Not sure if Australia has had another increase since then, but Canada has stayed the same since the last increase.
ETA: for quite some time you could purchase donuts for 99.99 CAD for a boatload even though CAD dollar was around 80% of USD. Price went up to 119.99 CAD to match.
We're still paying less in Canada actually... 1 Canadian Dollar equals 0.76 US Dollar
