When to drop friends
You'll find it easier to find the robots in abandoned towns, so I'd keep them for a while

I have given up on dropping people. Sometimes I may hide them if I am going to visit neighbors but I really haven't done much of that except for during events. The only way I am going to lose neighbors is if they drop me.
