That never happened so I don't know where you got that from. Again probably a newbie...
(I don't mean that in an offensive way)
If you don't mean it in an offensive way, then perhaps you could use a less offensive term.
I'm sorry...
You must be a new player.

If I wanted to be offensive I would've used other words. I'm not looking for a fight on here. I'm just surprised that people actually want to waste there time on chance. It also surprises me that newer players talk about this particular subject like they know this game inside out. Again not trying to offensive just stating the obvious, that's all.
You do realize that there are other games/websites that uses similar mechanism right?
Which are?
Gaia Online is one example.AJtheboss1 wrote:

I don't know if that made sense?
Makes perfect sense, and I like the idea.
Back on topic of the poll, I did vote "I don't" and can say the most likely reason people who voted as me haven't responded, is they figure they will get attacked for voicing their opinion against the majority of posters in this thread.
My reasoning is, I don't see this as much random chance as the Christmas and V'day wheels were. It may seem far fetched, and right now may seem impossible, but the prizes are guaranteed at the latest after 81 boxes of each color. I know right now that seems impossible, but the event just started, and nobody knows what we will see when the quest line is finished. We may have 1/4/8 hour tasks that reward donuts (just speculation) giving us more donuts than we know what to do with, allowing us to leave them in neighbors baskets who need them.
they may find 80 boxes is too many and as somebody mentioned, they have been known to change requirements. But until the even gets further along, and we see how the 80 blue/pink/gold boxes works out for the guaranteed items, I will stand by my vote that I like the event, and the way the boxes are done.
** I do reserve the right to change my mind if the 80 box guarantee items turn out to be impossible to get **
On a side note, I do not like the completely random wheels. I have a feeder town which I was not able to complete the V'day wheel on, and my main town wouldn't have finished the wheel without spending donuts for hearts.
The Christmas event I was lucky enough to get everything in both towns.
The only people who had harsh responses were people saying things that just simply didn't make sense. If you read what I said earlier about putting work in and only having a chance at a return you'd see why this system is a flop. But you are entitled to your opinion. If you find this fun and putting work into something for a chance then by all means go ahead. I only wish you luck on winning everything.
I do not find it fun putting time into a game for a chance at winning something, as I said, I didn't like the wheels. What I said, which may have been misunderstood, is that I am putting faith in the fact that after 80 boxes the items are guaranteed. its only been 1 day and nobody knows if it will be possible to get 80 of each box in 26 days yet. I am being optimistic in hoping it will be possible which means guaranteed items, and not chance of items. The wheels never had that guarantee of items if you spun them x number of times.Khodro wrote:

Well there are 2 problems for me. First off I only play mobile games on my iPad so games that run on browser are a no go for me. And secondly, I only play this game because I loved the Simpsons so it has a nostalgic thing, plus the game is a very well designed game for the most part. And finally it's convenient.
That being said I don't agree with a lot of things the developers are doing with this game, mainly because they kept trying to fix what was good from the beginning of the year (Christmas event) instead of polishing up what worked and fixing real bugs. It's really backwards IMO.danco214 wrote:

I understand that, it's just why would they have a game of chance in the first place. It's about the peace of mind. Also just because they said after 80 you'll get everything doesn't mean we'll get all of those.
Take for example the Christmas wheel. They changed the odds a couple of weeks before the event ended but yet a ton of people didn't get all the prizes on the wheel. I personally won all the prizes in one if my towns (unfortunately not my main on) but the point is even if they do change it, it won't change the fact that it's chance based and there's still a huge chance that people won't get everything, or what they want. It destroys the motivation to play the event, and I'm sure that's not something the developers want.AJtheboss1 wrote:

I personally dont like this "chance" deal, i like the old Whacking day system where you had to work towards collecting a certain amount to win the prizes, least that way providing you put the time in you got everything with this "Chance" System you run the risk of not getting everything! Being a completist it is really going to annoy (putting it politely) the hell out of me if i dont get everything!
maybe pay the developers
"Hey Jim, here's 5 dollars from that forum."- Dear EA,
I'm sorry for ever complaining about the Whacking Day format of prize rewards. Please bring it back! I promise I will never again complain about that format (on the internet) ever, EVER again. All you have to do is never, ever again put awesome prizes, for example, Shary Bobbins or the Blocko Store, in Misery Boxes or glorified Misery Boxes.
Sincerely
kandycanada
BUT SERIOUSLY. At least working your @$$ off for WD meant you got awesome prizes. Working your butt off for this event guarantees nothing, except maybe a headache and a drinking problem. Not to break out my inner Josh, but this is the worst event ever. TWO (2) DECORATIONS for game dollars?? Everything else is for this craptastic egg rip off deal or for donuts. Gee, EA, at least take me to dinner first.
I know EA is a business and they need to make money, blah, blah. But they've turned this freemium game into a premium game with this event. I refuse to buy any more donuts until they fix the 'load the wrong game' glitch and I really do not see how it's possible to get all the prizes without spending donuts.
*le sigh* Back to zapping bunnies. Better take what enjoyment I can out of this event before it frustrates the hell out of me. crosby357 wrote:

I'm not really sure where you are trying to get at.
My point was that if items aren't chanced, then people will start complaining that the events are too easy. I know this because I've seen other games such as Gaia Online where they have limited time event items as well and whenever these items weren't chance based, people would complain that it was too easy.Khodro wrote:

Ohh my bad I didn't get what you meant I guess.
I'm just curious if you were around during the Halloween event? Or even last years whacking day event?
No one complained that it was too easy. It was well balanced. Do you really think people would be saying they want the old system back if it was boring and "too easy" :?
They had a very good system in the past and even when something was set too high it was easily fixed, but this system doesn't warrant easy fixes. And that goes back to what I wrote earlier.
