Why are people against graffiti?

I love the in-game graffiti, it looks cool and provides the only source of income for those four buildings. I graffiti my neighbors quite frequently...if anyone doesn't like it, they're welcome to delete me and find a new neighbor! This is a game, so I generally fail to see how this could possibly be a big deal.
