Will the crafting items switch this sunday?

I believe the reason people are hoarding bags is because they no longer need probes (because they've already acquired the donut torture device). Since you get probes from the bags and you can't purchase anything with them after the donut torture device, it makes sense to hold off until the new currency (rayguns, I think) is released in four days.

so, is it correct to say that with the information we have today, the best strategy is to start hoarding as soon as we are about to win the torture device, waiting till the switch before opening further bags and shooting UFO? (getting the device using only the probes coming from the aliens and gremlins?)

like mentioned before people are hoarding bags under the assumption that they will get the ray guns from the bags like the probes so ultimately it's your choice

Yes. Estimate how many probes you are getting from other sources than the bags to get an idea when to start hoarding. If you are a few probes short of the DTM on the 19th then open some bags to finish.
  • Im hoping they'll at least keep the human test tubes and the walls, wouldnt mind a few of those to spice up my alien crash site.

the crafting prizes aren't leaving until the end of the event
  • I am hoping that they will add some new crafted items. I started hoarding bags two days ago and I am already up to 47 bronze, 22 silver and 12 gold. Lately I have been getting bags just by tapping on the aliens in my town.

i would hoard your missiles as well because you wont need to win 50 probes any longer once you get the donut torture device.

this will be hard to do because it seems like you only have to tap anywhere on the screen when a UFO flies by for it to register as a tap on it.

I have enough trouble finding enough UFO's to use all my missiles currently, I wouldn't want to be on a backlog of them. I'd never be able to use them all. The spawn rate for UFO's is terrible when you actually have ammo.

    sorry you have that issue

i have so many UFOs flying by it drives me crazy.
when i was using the immediately i was always taping them by mistake and it asking me to buy more.
now that am trying to save them up i still tap on UFOs by mistake causing me to use one. Luckily i have not received probes yet since i got the donut torture machine.

I've been saving up missiles and all you have to do to not hit a UFO is make sure that you tap in the bottom 1/4 of the screen when squishing aliens. I think having a large store of missiles at the start of the next phase will be much more beneficial than a bunch of treat bags.

As for hoarding bags, I thought about doing that but didn't think the number of probes in each was enough to stop trying to get further in the crafting. I get at most three probes per bag which in the grand scheme of things didn't seem like it would really get me that far ahead. I also really like opening the bags and couldn't resist the temptation this morning so I opened all the ones I saved over the last two days.

This is my understanding after all the reading I've done here, but I can't tell for sure how much is just speculation. It probably won't make a big difference for me, though I'm ahead on the daily total i would probably only be hoarding a day at most. ;-)
