- barryriddl474Seasoned NewcomerI took a different approach on my thought process leading to my idea of the worst update. I chose Halloween 2012. Why? Because it wasn't out for the 6 Android devices I had. Was the update good? How would I know? Never saw it. No hate towards iOS users. Just a fact of life.
Regarding all of the Easter hate, yeah... nothing sucked worse than gathering all of this colored egg, spinning... get another colored egg.. repeat, and rarely win a cool prize. I did not spend donuts on the event to spin for another chance at disappointment, but I did win Hugs Bunny, Johnny Fiesta's, some Egg shaped dude, and the mutated bunny, to name a few. I did not get Father Sean, Sherry Bobbins, the 2 lizards, and whatever the other cool prize was (Blocko store? It's 4:00 AM, and I may be mixing up my events and the items I definitely missed out on, and not from lack of trying).
I did enjoy Halloween 2013, and I look forward to this years event. I still need and want Kodos. Unlike C of C, the Halloween event is directly related to the show and so very iconic. I hope the gremlins are available for purchase, and I hope the ghosts return.
But yeah, frustration-wise, Easter sucked more than a hooker on payday. - Ok, since it's obvious that the only two options of this poll are Easter and CoC, let's say that I can't give a precise answer. My choice would be CoC, I finished the event in one week, by the time I found out about the glitch I was already approaching the last prize without knowing it, so I kept exploiting it for the giggles and hoarding rights, but now I'm going through a month of nothing event-wise (thanks for the new CoC elixir items and level 44, without these I'd be even more biased). Plus, as some other people said, I don't really like too much stuff from outside the show: there's still a TON of characters I'd like to see in the game, I don't want to manage a city with 1000 characters and buildings so I only get the ones I really want. And I have a small town, I'm freemium and my only premiums come from promos and grinding (and begging EA). I would have loved a small tie-in with one castle and the four skins, the rest seems a waste of space. And the second row of prizes is much worse than the first (even some new free items such as the windmill and the double toilet are better than the towers, the 1000 elixir and the banners). So in the end this was just an explaination of why I jumped on the "boring-not show related-bad prizes" wagon.
I must say Easter had much better prizes, and I loved the bunnies and the atmosphere. I didn't get hurt by the dialogs mocking our addiction because I don't care if a game insults me. BUT I understand whoever says Easter is worse, because the winning system was really frustrating, especially for those who spent donuts. Why am I not considering this aspect? Because I was very lucky. I surely had to grind like a mad and I got a lot of bad boxes, and the faberge egg took me away a lot of baskets, but in the end I got everything (including the 50 fences) except Shary, without spending a single donut, and every time the joy of finally opening the right box cancelled all the previous bad ones. I'm not premium, I'm not a completionist, so this exceeded my wildest expectations. Yes, I was very lucky, had I missed things such as Blocko or ECG I'd probably be angrier at this event, that's why I won't OBJECTIVELY say that CoC is the worst event, but based on my single experience it surely is, because when both events have ended, I'll be more proud in showing my visitors my Easter prizes than my CoC prizes. neuroheart wrote:

I think we weren't playing the same event. I'm curious about your metrics, here. Tons of new characters? Most players got one, if they were lucky. Many of my neighbors got zero. Less grinding? What the actual fudgesicle? I can play this event a couple times a day and get enough currency for pretty much whatever I want. I played Easter six (or more) times per day, and often didn't get enough for one lousy box. :| (my experience was far from unique.)sizzlefork wrote:

Raise your hand if your frustration with Easter will never be "overcome. " (Because it's literally impossible to achieve your Easter goals, particularly now that it's over.)
I got all the characters (Father Sean, Shary Bobbins, the two lizards, Mojo, CCL, hugs bunny and the bunny with many numbers) without using money other than to mojo and ccl. Hugs Bunny and Father Sean are still my a few of my favorite characters.
I played the game only a couple times a day. I guess I got lucky.- Definitely Easter but if I remember correctly and I was there too whacking day was the grind from hell. I thought after whacking day we all made a pact to never discuss whacking day again.

I clearly remember spinning for father Sean day after day and was unsuccessful in the end, but received a tremendous accumulation of pastel fences. Not only is my town with loads of the stuff so is my inventory. There was certainly lot of grinding going on for Father Sean and Mary Bobbins.- I am shocked that clash of clones is getting such high votes. You are mad for getting everything and finishing early?
Freaking Easter was awful,I played non stop and spent money on donuts. I did get everything but in no way was it fun. That is the only event that I almost gave up on the entire game for.
Side note.....we need ALL holiday items to be able to be placed in I rusty land! neuroheart wrote:

There are players who did win everything, and are still negative. (At least one of them has already posted in this thread.) Your postulation is flawed.
Like me, my frustration was that when you have enough gold to go fore a box i was getting fences, gates...
And the best prizes where not easy to catch, 80 boxes till you have all? ... that has nothing to do with luck only money- IMO the current one is the worst so far as
1) it's a direct (and admitted) copy of another game which I don't like I would prefer originality.
2) the dialogue crossed over from snarky making gentle fun of itself and players dialogue to outright constant digs aimed at players
3) I don't like any of the rewards
4) a whole lotta grinding needed (or a whole lotta not logging on)
Just my .02cents :) - Easter was the worst ever! Money grabbing event by EA!
2nd worst was valentine.
Wish there would be an event like halloween 2012. That was the best one so far. Zozobras wrote:
Worst event so far: Easter - somehow it translated as three wheels; the only way to get a chance of obtaining all the "prizes" was to gamble money. Was like Las Vegas slots, no guarantee of winning the prices regardless of the amount of money spend.
First runner up Valentine's day 2014. Wheel -against very negative feed back from gamers.
Second runner up Christmas 2013. Introducing "the wheel".
Agreed on all three counts. Easter was not actually three wheels; it was (EDIT TO CORRECT ERROR) a main (gold) wheel accessed through two sub-wheels(blue & pink)
And to whomever stated that Easter was better than CoC because it promoted helping neighbors by filling baskets, I can ASSURE you that Easter was the most FRUSTRATING event for those trying to be good neighbors. I happily piled a bunch of my own real-life money into buying hundreds of donuts to buy the wheel prizes for myself at the beginning of the event, intending to shower my friends with eggs and thus totally relax and thoroughly enjoy the event.
I ended up with thousands and thousands of useless eggs just clogging up my account -- useless because so FEW of my friends had baskets for me to fill. It was, for me, the worst, most frustrating event by far.
And the WORST part about the baskets stopping as soon as the questline was completed was that they did not TELL us ahead of time that the baskets would stop dropping until getting the Faberge egg. MANY of us would have stalled finishing the questline until we had accrued more prizes if we knew that was going to happen.
WORST. EVENT. EVER.
