So have we made certain this mystery box is permanent yet? We only have a few days left and I'd rather not burn through thousands of donuts at once. I'd prefer to clear out the box gradually.
I am guessing “no”. I didn’t start with 700 items in my first game, only about 15 or so that were mostly NPCs I hadn’t bought from other events. So I bought them now and now when I click on the box it just takes me back into the game with nothing to buy.
If it were a permanent feature wouldn’t more stuff be added in? Or a message that new items will be available after this event is over?
So I am guessing no."Surfcitygal;c-2058809" wrote:

Not necessarily. Normally, when a limited time box is emptied out it disappears."TheJuiceLoosener;c-2058792" wrote:

Too good of a deal to pass up if you have the donuts. You can always make more donuts, but you can rarely get these items for 30 donuts."wiedmannaj;c-2058832" wrote:

I have more to buy than to spend though. It'd be nice to know how much more time we actually have.- lol There is nothing in there I want anyway. It can stay in the game as long as it wants, I will just ignore it forever.

If it is, is that a good and bad thing? It will allow people to get literally everything but then what's left? Are EA killing the game off?
If I had a nickel for every "is the game ending?" post I've seen in the last 6 years, I'd never need to donut farm - I'd have so many nickels that I could buy millions of donuts!
I'd love to know when the first "game ending!" posts appeared. Probably 2013! :D- 4junk3000New Spectator

What is making anyone think that it's not ending with the event? My timer says there's two days left for the event, and the box is under the category title of the event. I don't recall any box in the past, remaining after its event ended.
This is why i have been max grinding money and KeM crops this whole event. This is the best sale ever and may not return. "4junk3000;c-2059117" wrote:

SAME! I'm honestly about to buy a small box of donuts because I can't grind fast enough to get some of the items I want. Even all the extra random stuff I've been getting has pushed my % from 840 to 916!! So I don't mind as much. GRIND GRIND GRIND!"4junk3000;c-2059117" wrote:

I think it was because the word "new" suddenly -- mid-event -- replaced a tag that originally had the end date on it. (I mean the tag specifically attached to the yearbook itself. The outer "event" tag did not change, though, as shown in your picture.) Also, LPNintendo now finds no end date in the code related to the yearbook itself. I don't know if there was ever such language there in the first place. At least, that's what I think it said someplace. I could be wrong. But that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
Does that make any sense?- I can think of a rationale for EA to keep the album/box/whatever permanently. In the old days, a new player could come along, see some "old timers'" towns, and think to themselves "Gosh. If I work hard at this game, maybe I can have a town with those things in it." There were a FEW items (only a few 'event's had taken place and the towns were not immersed in special-event items.) The VAST majority of items in other towns were level-related and it was merely a case of willingness to put in time and effort to get what the bulk of neighbor towns had. And a bit of premium items. (My main wish was for the bowling alley. It was right there in my store. It was only a matter of time.)
99% of the items in towns were available to all.
But now that the game is virtually overrun with event items, mostly time-limited, when a new player looks at a "typical" town, they find that the vast majority of what they see will not be in their town. Ever. The game is now event-driven. They will see awesome areas covering a town, NONE of which will be possible for them.
99% of what they see in well-established towns will NEVER be available to all.
That might not be a goal that many share, but frankly I'd be turned off by a game that offered completely different content than I was going to see.
The album gives them a "chance" of getting some stuff they especially like.
And EA is making a friggin FORTUNE from players who think they are only paying "30 donuts" when in reality they are paying a lot more because odds are good that they won't get that item on their first try. Or second try, for that matter.
It's brilliant, in my opinion. :)
