You guys...

As a long time player I've read a lot of posts in this forum asking for innovation and new things. But when EA actually does something different.. well, you start to make posts about keep things in the old way. Happened last year in Christmas and is happening this Halloween. "Kids should be trick or treating" "Christmas must have Santa" and stuff like that. Seems like you guys are "Holiday fundamentalists".

I know this sounds like just criticism, but c'mon, last year Christmas and this THOH have some nice stuff, let's appreciate what we have instead of what we haven't.
  • The criticism of events, both major and minor, just show people think it could be better.

Halloween is something the Simpsons has been known for. The THOH episodes are special to fans, and the early episodes used to come with tongue in cheek warnings from Marge with clever or genuinely 'scary' (okay, not actually scary.. but it had a darker or spooky element). So to see them using a Harry Potter parody from a weak later season is a miss for most who expected more - and know there is the content for a stronger event. Harry Potter is neither classic Simpsons nor at the peak of its popularity, so you just wonder why when there is a mine of material they could use and if it was a 'Magic' theme they were going for then why not another time as the Angelica Button stuff has been referenced many times and instead - as I don't like to criticise without offering alternatives - develop the Island of Dr Hibbert which could be far more than a single item sitting in the sea.

The Pagan stuff was a bit of a miss, too, because part of it was released before the episode it featured in was aired which was confusing at first and disappointing when that turned out to be it after previous Christmas events with presents and elves. I doubt the episode was memorable, either.

I can never get my wife off the phone costing me a fortune, she loves talking, I’ve known her talk on the phone for nearly 4 hours. That’s the way she is, a very sociable person. Me? well less than two minutes is the most I’m on the phone with anyone.

People still use phones for talking??

I still call my parents, and the companies that love putting you on hold for an hour.

I am underusing my phone talk time. In some months, I didn't even use it. Generally do texting only

I hate that. If my call is so important to you, why dont they answer the damn phone!

I find this important, if you didn't see the Episode here's a recap:
Krustys daughter tries to spend more time with him. With a B story involving Maggie's fear of Gnome in your Home.
The Pagan stuff happens in the first five minutes of the Episode, but that's it.

I hated the Episode because Krusty tries to share his Jewish heritage with his daughter, but she only wants to celebrate Christmas going as far as to almost forcing him to convert.

We each have our own thoughts on that Episode and event, if Tapped out does a Kwanzaa or Hanukkah event that's cool, but the pagan event was just going through the motions. Had it been an ice age event with Homer riding a Mammoth I'd defend the event.
It honestly felt like an event Lisa would have loved, which I believe says everything.

To us, the older generation, yes... Very frustrating when you try to ring your daughter and keep getting cut off only to have a call back five minutes later explaining how she was trying to take a shot in 8-ball pool and I was interrupting .... pfft!

Come on, now, Dad, cardinal rule...never interrupt a girl's shot!

Of course, my sole means of keeping in touch with my extended family has been, for the past month at least, texting. Feeling a bit guilty just now..

You sound like my mother. To paraphrase her attitude: "How dare you not drop everything you're doing to listen to me talk on the phone when I called out of the blue!"
Yeah, that's why the younger generation doesn't want to talk on the phone. A text is short and to the point, not 20 minutes of somebody yammering on about people you may or may not even know and the things they did and/or said.
You wanna have a conversation with your daughter? Take her out to dinner at a nice restaurant.
