I used to race through the game initially but gradually slowed my pace down. :D Especially when I found out how difficult it was to obtain donuts.
The recent surge in cash and donuts won't change the way I play it. I'm a donut hoarder. :D And I stopped buying land already. I don't want my Springfield to start crashing on me. *knocks on wood* As it is it's already starting to lag quite a bit.
Mine isn't crashing anymore *knock on wood* LOL but I went from 95 friends to 50. Now I just crash when I click on Homer. Somebody had suggested looking to see when people last logged in, had around 30 who hadn't logged in for over a week! Deleted all of them and the game became more stable. Also deleted the few massive house farmers I had, that helped as well.
Be prepared for guilty feelings though if you do this.
I'm going to try this as well the moment the Xmas event is over. Unfortunately I already got rid of the really bad house farm neighbors as well as those who hadn't logged in recently, so this next cut is gonna be a little harder! But I sure did enjoy the 3 or so weeks of perfect, crash-free performance in December, I'd love that back.
And I'm also not going to rush through. Actually, even though I have way more money than I'll need for the update I'm probably going to save as if I'm broke so I can get the satisfaction of finally having enough to afford it. Maybe it will be a hollow victory, but at least I won't be twiddling my thumbs on the 11th ready for the February update :)- We've been given the opportunity to play faster than ever (more money, more land, more rich friends, and more donuts) yet we're saying we will still play at a regular pace? Clearly success has not spoiled us yet.

I'm going to get all tantric on this update's *. I'm going to take it nice and slow and prolong the pleasure. Got way over excited with the Christmas update and blew my stack (of money and donuts) far too quickly and was left feeling unsatisfied as a result.
I have a challenge for you Peruhomer. Could you wait 24 hours before building or using each new building or decoration? Let's say Burn's Mansion pops up on the 10th, could you wait until the 11th to begin building it? Likewise for each new item available. RSommons wrote:

If a building appears I gotta have it now specially if you know it coming with a character !! I can wait for it to take 24hrs to build although does become very tempting to use donuts when it down to the 2donut time lol- Yes, I've wanted to drop the double donut too. Then i ask "is it worth .17 cents?" Or however much the rationalized rate of donut has become. Currently 50 Santa Coins.

Done and done. You can check my Springfield to see if I achieve the goal. But you have to do something in return. I will be kind enough to let you name what that challenge might be...
Alright, let me think....RSommons wrote:

Maybe this: you slow down on the building. I'll slow down on tasks. For each new task a character is given I'll wait 24hrs before initiating it.- When we have a new update i race without using donuts. When i'm maxed out in exp and new buildings i offcourse slow down.

Accepted. Best of luck to you sir. Now I will head west and you will head east around the world and we will meet back on this very spot in 80 days. Good day sir!
Simplicity is golden, but I've thought of a small detail to our challenge (and it's a bump to the thread). Clearly we are both fans of the Premium Items. Where do they fall in the challenge? I suggest we gain these items only after all nonpremium are collected. That adds a certain pressure to potentially Limited Time Only items.
Shall we open this challenge to the forum via new thread: Slow Tap Movement? The thread could serve as a travelogue.- I don't race through, but depending on what I am working on I can get real intense and race to put that plan in effect before I get distracted by something else that pops into my head. That's why the Penitentiary sits off in the corner awaiting inspiration...again lol
- I like to go at my own speed not trying to finish too quickly so I don't have anything to do later on. So I do a mix of both, but I never speed anything up
