Lost progress in my game. Donuts gone

I spent like 400 donuts I had  on mystery yearbook boxes and got a bunch of buildings like westminister abbey etc. The next day I loaded my game and it was all gone but my donuts went down from like 700 to 298 but the rest of my progress was all lost and I went from lvl 39 to 38 again. Is this a common issue? Where can I request help for this...
