Cannot Connect To Server
This morning when I tried to log in it said 'servers undergoing maintenance', but it works now. Could it be this that was causing it?

I'm having a very similar problem, since Sunday evening I have not been able to log into Tapped out.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, turning on/off my iPhone, installing and logging into my iPad.
I takes me to the 'logged in as' screen but whenever I click to play it just get 'Cannot connect to game' retry.
Its driving me crazy!
Seems like the exact same problem. Now if only we had a solution...
