I hope you don't think we were making fun of you; that's a mistake most native English speaking people would make. "Sticky" just sounds funnier and more sexual than "stickied." ...just our minds being dirty!
Oh! of course, I didn't think that you were making fun of me. Besides, me and my colleague tease each other when we use a word wrongly. I have a shining record! I used 'stick' or 'sticky' (don't remember) wrongly in a sexual way in a lecture. Last week, in another lecture, I was just going to explain a case dealing with prohibition of sex dolls. But I changed my mind and wanted to touch upon 'state measures' first before the case. And I said 'now we will examine the concept of sex measures'. Today, with the same students, I was explaining a case on prohibiton of import of pornographic materials into the UK. The only thing I had to say was that since production of such materials in the national territoy was allowed, the UK couldn't rely on public morality. But I formulated it similar to that 'well, since they could make their own national porn movies, they couldn't rely on public morality'. Friday I must talk about a case regarding slot machines. Working on correct pronunciation. Anyway, they love me and I love them!
