Not a dumb question, it isn't very intuitive. On the screen where you can visit the other Springfield, where you are taken after clicking the Bart and Millhouse button on your main screen, there is an orange 'O' in the lower left corner. Click it, brining up a menu in the upper right corner. Click 'news', and then look for a tab that says 'invites'. You can accept or decline invites from there.
