Offline Career Longevity

As a new player, at first I liked the idea of the longevity feature because it's realistic. However, it doesn't work properly at all! Sometimes I lose way too much longevity although I barely get a bruise in a fight. It's extremely punishing for no reason.

What's even more annoying is that I grinded with all the trainings, marketing, leveling up my fighter, etc... but I had to retire in prime during my early 30s with low-medium damage received per match while fighters like The Korean Zombie and Max Holloway were still active in their 50s in my career mode. This is ridiculous and not "as real as it gets".

I see two logical solutions.

1- Let the players turn it on or off.

2- In any case, players shouldn't have to retire as soon as their longevity hits zero. Instead, the fighter's attributes and skills, especially cardio and power attributes, should go down over time after longevity hits zero. Just like in real life.

I mean, how did nobody think about it when you were developing the game?? This is so obvious.

I hope changes will be made because I genuinely don't want to play the game anymore after what happened.

    Hey everyone,

We've just released the patch notes for this month's update, which arrives tomorrow!

This does include changes to longevity based on the feedback that's been provided, so please give that a try tomorrow and let us know how that feels after the update.

    • Career Mode Longevity Attribute decay will now be affected by the chosen Fighter Style and the overall impact has been reduced.

Thank you for the continued feedback and check out the full patch notes here!

What's annoying is that I can't even get past 3.5 stars for my fighter every time he goes from 3.5 to 0.5 and it's like that every time. It's getting really frustrating in this career mode, I hope they'll patch it one day !

I remembered in UFC 3 and UFC 4 that we did not lose attributes on longevity. It would be nice if there is an option to pick UFC 3 or UFC 4 style offline career mode. The issue is more pronounced at the Women's Flyweight Division. My fighter make the top 15 by fight 17 and my CAF get the title shot at fight 25. By the time my CAF becomes champion, the longevity becomes an issue.

  • It is unrealistic how the skills and longlivinty drops way to fast after a fight in careermode.

    Please update this.

  • @Yoru34Kenshi I'm totally with you on this. However, as fan of UFC and boxing for over 30 years it's well known that power is last to go. That explains older guys like Big George Foreman knocking out Michael Moorer and Randy Couture beating up guys 10 years younger than him in their 40s. Agreed, turn off longevity or at least look into refining it. Randy Couture started at 34 in 1997 alongside Tito Ortiz at UFC 13 and didn't retire until he was crane kicked in the face by Lyoto Machida at the age of 47. Also, former UFC Ultimate Ultimate '96 champion Dan Severn has about 109 wins and was still fighting in his 50s! He even beat a young Forrest Griffin by decision!

@13c11b611cc8f15a First off, thank you for being a pioneer and buying the deluxe edition for $100 (I presume) it's the early adopter players like you that go through the grind and report issues with the game so late adopters like me (I got my copy may 2024 after a great deal on ebay). My whole point of playing offline career is so I can create a 5-star monster to beat up all the other lightweights. I'm a 5-star in offline career mode but a 4-star in exhibition? I'm a wrestler limited to "dominator" or "smasher" even though I've won my KO's multiple times in career mode with punches and head kicks! Yet, on hard difficulty I can't even take down Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier has the bottom game of a BJJ black belt and Islam Mahkachev sits on me like a playground bully and won't let me up! Bring back the developers of EA MMA with came out in the early 2010's. That game was a nearly flawless masterpiece in which I created Mike Tyson in career mode and KO'd Fedor Emilianenko in 10 seconds on the highest difficulty! If this keeps up then this will be my first/last EA UFC game. Times like this I wish EA would buy Yukes or at least contract them to develop the UFC games. They set the standard and innovation way back in 2009! In 2024, it feels like EA has somehow taken one step forward and three steps back!
  • Your game on PlayStation is rated 3 stars, significantly lower than the previous UFC installment. To say “This does not include changes to longevity, based on the feedback that's been provided” and then requesting people giving the suggestions, to try out the game- I mean, It is not looking good going forward.

If suggestions continue to be ignored, like 2K when they released WWE 2K20, there will be a fall off and a loss of profit due to lack of content, replay-ability, & bugs .They had to completely do a re-work but at the least they respect and listen to their players to a degree to TAKE SUGGESTIONS INTO CONSIDERATION.

A longevity enable/disable option is something I’ve requested since UFC 2. Respectfully and with well thought out consideration, all can agree that would bring not only profit, but more profit as it adds to more replay-ability for offline players. That is good for ratings.

Personally me, due to the let down of the longevity not being an enable/disable option & lack of content provided for single-player based players, I don’t really play the game much anymore & tend to delete it instantly, each time I reinstall it on my system. This is because nothing is different compared to the last. This can be argued with, but that won’t change your ratings. Going based off ratings for UFC 5 & 4 on PlayStation alone, I don’t think people would disagree.

Just a suggestion, take a suggestion. The longevity disabled option would go well with the game overall and make it enjoyable. However, I expect nothing less but a patch note you the DEVs see fitting, which seems to be the underlying cause for complaint. If it’s nothing we the consumer ask for, nothing is ultimately fixed. Do as you wish, it’s not my Intellectual Property.

@JaydizzleActual1 correction “ This DOES include changes to longevity based on the feedback that's been provided” . I misread but at the same time I’m not wrong because what changes were actually made based on feedback if the general discussion, was based off trying to come up with a feature to disable longevity as an option.

It’s almost like you guys are saying “we hear you, but we’re just not going to listen to you.”

@JaydizzleActual1 Mike Tyson is boxing at the age of 60 and with his attitude probably will fight until he’s dead & you’re telling me I can’t manage my life on a game because the game decided for me like I need help ? Fight night round 3, created by EA, even had the option to retire when I want to. That was PS2. All I’m asking is for a disable longevity button so I can look 20 at the age of 90 and still compete because I paid 100$ like a dummy to do what I want in a game offline.
