Its because they dont actually have an MMR in place. They pretend they do, but they dont. Even if they do, its non existent when there are only 10k people active on the game at once. With UFC 2, even if you were decent at the game, you could make it to round 3. With UFC 5, all it takes is one solid punch to end the game. They went from a fun factor, to a realistic factor and ruined the games. Ufc 2 was the pinnacle of these games, and they ruined them. I took a break from 3 and 4 and then bought 5 to see if I was being ridiculous, and I wasn't. This game has a huge identity crisis going on. The most annoying thing in ufc2 was going against people who mastered the ground game, but even then you still had enough stamina to get back to your feet and fight, but now they can tap you in the first round if you aren't aware of every submission defense. I will never touch another one of these games. The only people who get to enjoy them are the no life's who learn every gables amd transition defense. F EA, AND F THE UFC GAMES
