Re: Online career moves dont level up

Bro, I said it 3 weeks ago. It's not broken, it was never developed. You are watching them roll-out this game mode in real-time. If this were a bug or a configuration issue it would have been hot-fixed/correct weeks ago. They never finished development of online career mode and now we're watching EA's janky-* development/deployment process in action. They are slow rolling it out in phases so they can beta test this portion before the next release, and then they'll beta test that... Insert "I don't always beta-test my code, but when I do, I do it in production" meme here...

I think i played someone with leveled up kicks they looked like level 3 animation I'll try to level it up and see 

Some striking animations do look to have upgraded, the takedowns say they're leveling, but the moves dont actually advance,  still. All grappling related moves are still only their 1 star version, all submissions are 1 star takedowns are 1 star versions... they say 4-5 star, but none of the actual movesets are useable or available... continue with your development of Online Career Mode @EA_Mako, maybe by season 5 it will be where it should have been on release.

Same goes for clench grapples, none of the advanced clench moves are available. Flying submissions are not available, so to be clear it's all grappling, not just ground grappling.

Lead question mark kick doesn't work at all have it equipped and everything wont throw it

How do they actually make this mode worse?

Did ea stop testing things before releasing updates cause thats literally how it looks 

The update was straight up a lie none of its even in the patch theres no new lunge dont notice any difference in spamming strikes moving forward what did they add?

Even for ea this is a new low

Games comes out. Major game mode simply doesn't work. 

EA: "Yeah sorry guys we will fix this later" 

Silent for over a month, and wont respond to people's concerns or questions. 

Season 2 comes out. Still broken. 
EA: "Yeah so we have a new patch. We think it should fix it". 

Doesn't fix anything. Instead it makes it even worse. 

Silent.

Not even acknowledgement that the patch didn't do anything to solve the problem or an apology. 

Proves that they didn't even bother to check for a minute if this patch that took them over a month to create did anything at all. 

Meanwhile they keep promoting the game, not telling costumers about the fact that one of the biggest selling points with this game isn't working.

@EA_Mako is active a lot every day, but simply decides to ignore this thread and go on about his business.

Thanks for the posts clarifying what you're now seeing post-patch.

We've passed the reports along to be looked into further once again, as well as those from the other thread referenced. 

From what I'm seeing we had pushed an additional fix for this after the patch, so if you're still seeing this issue please let us know which particular movesets seem to be affected, thanks!

@EA_Mako what a * response. These same issues existed prior to the current patch and were outlined in not only this thread but others as well. The fact you can't be bothered to actually read the body of the messages that outlined the totality of the issues within your "in development" game mode, is unacceptable. This messgae is either insincere or reflects utter incompetence neither of which is a good look. EA should be ashamed and embarrassed that this is the level of messaging you're providing to the community.

I'm definitely aware of the details outlined throughout this and other threads, and that many of you mentioned these continuing after the patch on the 7th.

We released an additional fix a few days ago that should have addressed this further.

As we haven't seen many posts continue since this latest fix on the 12th, we're just trying to confirm which aspects may still be causing issues for people.

Have you had a chance to log in over the past couple days to see whether this is still ongoing? Are you still seeing this issue with the same moves as before?

You don't check this before releasing it? Because no, it didn't adress it further. It was never addressed in the first place. 

All moves are still on lvl 1. Same thing with combos. All combis are lvl 1. 

I assume none of you guys actually play this game/game mode yourselves, or you wouldn't have to ask us about it but instead see for yourselves. 

I still haven't faced an opponent that has anything but lvl 1 moves/combos. 

@EA_Mako I did check this last night, but I wasn't able to verify everything. What I did test, did work. Submission moves appear to be working, again I haven't checked everything , but definitely better. I can confirm both flying armbars and standing guillotines work now, as well as single & Double leg power takedowns.  Diving single leg ankle pick is also working now. Clench grapple transmission also appesr to be working now.

I can tell you there are still bugs/ balance issues though. On more than one occasion, I was attmpting submissions on someone who had zero stamina while I had mid-full stamina and they were able to reverse/escape I had 4.5 starts in submission offense, with 5 star submissions. If submission defense perks are allowing for this, they are over tuned.

Lastly, I would like to say that no one tested your latest patch, because we were unaware of it. And, I would venture to say, we all stopped playing this game/game mode all together. The communication from EA during this process has been atrocious. If I have any feedback for EA in general it would be to learn to get comfortable with the uncomfortable conversations. Bad news > no news.

So I tested now, after a restart and yes, grappling and subs have been improved. Ankle pick, backpack, flying armbar and some other things seem to be working.

Stand up moves still seem to be on lvl 1. Combos still dont work. I can't speak for all different type of combos, but def not the Muay Thai ones. I love the left front kick/left switch kick, which isn't working. 

Also, and I don't know if this is intentional, but before you could still throw things like left roundhouse or left elbow, even though you hadn't bought it. They wouldn't upgrade, but you could still throw them. Now you no longer can't.

@EA_Mako So any updates on this at all? Or are we just expected to wait for another month, with a broken game, before you or anyone else from EA answers? 

It's been 2 months since the release of the game and the Online Career is still broken. Some answers, or at least some communication isn't asking for that much, wouldn't you agree?

So nearly 1/4 of a year since the release of the game and this STILL hasn't properly been fixed. 
Moves do upgrade now, which is great. But the combos aren't. 

@EA_Mako I see that you are online and responding in threads on a daily basis. It is so frustrating and shows such a lack of respect that you can't make the time answering here.

I am a little confused here. You've known about this since it was first reported but have decided not to fix it? Or EA doesn't know how to fix it?
Several patches have been released but this still isn't working, and now you are telling me that there is no response to this nor anything planned to fix it? 
Will it simply be this way and Online Career will remain broken? 
It is such a shame. If it would work like it should it would be amazing. The last patch fixed some stuff, which was great, but should we give up on that EA will actually fix the moves/combos problem?

The last patches in early December should have addressed this issue, and did correct aspects of it based on what was said above.

Since you and a few others here have mentioned it did not fully solve things however, that was passed along.

I don't see where I've stated there were no plans for further fixes, just that I don't have any information to share about another update currently. Just to be clear, in case that was how that was read. 🙂

The game is broken at this point and not worth playing.  I've been playing along with these supposed "updates" hoping things would get better.  The initial fix to Online Career helped a bit, but you could only update moves like ground transitions for characters that were rated Prestige 3 and above.  Now the moves may update at some point, but it takes so long to build any xp or ev points that it's completely worthless if you didn't already have a Prestige 3 or above.  If you manage to get the people you find to make these updates so that ev and xp build points similar to before, then it might be playable again.  As it is now, you can play forever and not build any xp or ev points.

Your game is basically dead unless you fix this.  There's already hardly anybody playing, and it will only get worse.  This is entirely on your team.  Fix it if you can.  

@EA_Mako I appreciated you responding last time, and would hope you will respond this time as well. 

The XP for moves in Online Career is barely moving up at all. After +100 fights my fighter is still on lvl 2 jab. 

Good thing that there has been some progress but this whole situation is getting pretty crazy. We're 3 months in and these bug aren't minor ones. They prevent people from actually playing the game the way it was promised. 

Is this snail-xp thing intentional or is it another major bug?

Also, combos still aren't working. And to be clear this isn't just a few players that are experiencing. Try it out for yourself in Online Career!

Last time you said there was no word on any fixes for this. Could we PLEASE get an update on this. We have been VERY patient with this and so some communication would be greatly appreciated.

Just to be clear, I am not talking about evolution points, that is working the way it should. 

I am talking about the XP to level up your moves. That has definitely changed. 

Would you be able to please confirm if the rate of which moves points are gained has been changed by the developers intentionally? Because if it hasn't been changed on purpose it is definitely  a bug. 

I agree that it should be a grind, but with this rate it doesn't make any sense.

I dont know if you play this game yourself, but if you did you would notice the same change in Online Career.

So, are you admitting that nobody from EA (including yourself) has actually ever played this game?  You don't seem to know very much at all for a PR person.  I had heard horrible things about 

EA games, but thought I'd give this one a try since I love MMA.  It seems the horrible things I heard were true.  I hope you can fix the xp probems and the ground moves not levelling up problems.  Your game is broken.

I appreciate you passing along the info to the team. 

But at this point it is simply not good enough. We have all been very patient with the major bugs and flaws that have made essential parts of this game unplayable. 

The cycle that we're in now is about 1-3 months where the first part consists of us simply trying to convince you that there is in fact a problem with the game, not just something "some players are experiencing". The communication has at times been very poor and the players are simply receiving the silent treatment, which has been both very frustrating and easily avoidable. That said I do appreciate the recent increase in the response rate from you.
The second part is "oh ok, we'll look into it but we can't tell you when that will be". Then weeks or even months pass by, a patch is released but it doesn't fully solve these major issues and then it's back to square one with us desperately trying to convince you that it hasn't been fixed. 

How long is fair to have us waiting before we can actually play this game in full? Another 3 months? A year? 

I understand that you are not in a position where you can say "on this date at this hour everything will be fixed", but a scenario where the team would actually focus and prioritise fixing these things and say "listen, we need about 1-2 weeks (or whatever time) to fix this with a new patch", and then have someone from EA actually check that it does work before released to the public (which would require them actually playing the game) isn't a unreasonable request, I think. In fact, I believe you owe us that much at this point. 

Is that fair and doable you think, @EA_Mako ?
