1. The Hip Toss Bug (RB/R1 + A)
The Hip Toss (R1 + A or RB + A on Xbox) is notoriously finicky in sparring. There are a few reasons why it might not be registering:
Stance Requirement: Some players have found that certain hip throws only trigger in Orthodox stance. If you are in Southpaw, try switching stances before initiating the clinch.
Positioning: The game often fails to count the move if you are against the cage. Try to keep the clinch in the center of the mat to ensure the animation registers as a successful "training objective".
The "Double Leg" Workaround: A known community fix for this specific training bug is to shoot for a double leg (LT + Y + B), immediately cancel it with RT, and then quickly hit RB + X (or A). For some reason, this "broken" sequence often triggers the credit for the hip toss in training.
2. Broken Training Settings
The fact that your gameplay settings (stamina, power, movement speed) aren't working is a known issue where the career mode Game Style overrides your custom practice settings.
The Problem: In Career Mode sparring, the game often forces "Competitive" or "Realism" sliders regardless of what you set in the menus, meaning you can't use the training settings you might be looking for.
The AI Issue: In these sessions, the AI is also bugged; it often throws strikes that count toward your objective total or fails to reset its position, making technical challenges like the hip toss nearly impossible to complete.
Hope it helps 🙏
