UFC 5 Clinch Spam Solution?

So my opponent clinches me, which in itself I find very hard to deny. Yes, I know I can sway and even counter punch it. But if he initiates it after I do a combo he blocks it seems impossible. Then 1 out of 2 things happen: 

1): He will move me around in circles forever, throw knees and I cannot figure out how to get out. 

2): He will start throwing elbows to cut me. A few elbows is enough, and then the ref stops the fight. If I try to punch back in the clinch he still gets me cut so that wont work. If I block then he will still cut me a little and EVERY TIME I exit he gets one more elbow/punch in. He can just keep doing this until the ref stops it due to the cut. 

So is there really no other way to stop this other than preventing the actual clinch from happening?

    Thats real life, watch muay thai fights. They will clinch you and elboes and knees have high cut chance. Gotta learn to block em. Clinch is actually rather weak and nerfed with not allowing someone to be kept in it, in ufc 3 it was more denial based and had 4x as many entry options that didnt require stamina advantage to get to or be able to block the back take by defending like a td. Learn to block or counter. Its easier to drop someone getting greedy on the clinch entry, its only one animation to consider instead of thai, single, over, amd double under. Its already been catered to stand and bangers.

    Well I competed in Muay Thai for over a decade in real life, and when I did it was def possible to block elbows🙂 

    But back to the game: 

    When someone has you in the clinch and elbows you, you only seem to be able to block it when you move forward. If you move backwards, which is the only way to exit the clinch that I know of, your block wont do anything against the elbows. Also when you break free from the clinch your opponent is able to get one punch or elbow in, which also seems impossible to block. 

    So clinch spammers can just repeat this until the ref stops the fight from the cut and I have no idea how to stop it. 

    I was wondering if anyone knows how to deal with this.
