How to apply custom liveries

This is problem something very simple but I can't figure it out. 

I have created and saved a custom livery for my Junior WRC car. When I back out of the editor, I don't see any button to 'apply' the livery. I can change which livery I want to edit, but that just brings me in to the editor and doesn't apply it to the car. I can change the livery that is displayed but when I back out and go back to the livery section my car is blank again. I tried going in to the Garage menu but there wasn't any step there to apply a livery. I have also tried this with an H2 FWD car and keep getting the same results. 

Is there an apply button that I am just missing somewhere?
