Modern Technologie?

UE5?

Why is there no upgrade from a technical point of view?
PS4 and Xbox of the same generation is now how old? Over twelve years? Why are they still developing for it and modern hardware has to live with it?

UE5 is in a release-ready status, 4.3 is now over 11 years old. Why is such an old donkey still being ridden? So, PS4 and UE4 are the same age.

However, WRC came out at a time when PS5 and GF40 had been around a bit longer, and global illumination, AO and ray tracing were all the rage.

Why is everyone still using this old technology now with the WRC24 DLC? You can port it with a few simple steps, have World Partition and Lumen on the pointer and ray tracing also ensures correct lighting if you want.

WRC would be really fun if it weren't for these quirks. Night driving is lousy, there's no feeling of cars starting in front of you or cars lying on the ground with a breakdown during a stage, and the big faux pas is the ghost cars that can't be switched off on a global level. I don't want to mention the weather here, that would be a separate topic.

  • It's a shame, WRC would have the potential to develop further, the approach with DLC is definitely better than the buggy full price titles from F1.

But you don't hear or read anything about when the new tracks are coming and whether there will be an update for the rest. In Monte, for example, grass is still growing on the tarmac, even in WRC24. So old tracks are not being patched.

The hope of an update for lighting is therefore fading. Cheap track updates with new marketing seem to be the order of the day. Unfortunately.

You can get an impression of how things are going at EA with the current F1 24. According to the development team, current problems are no longer being addressed in this edition, the rest is simply being turned from a bug into a feature. Apart from that, the team remains silent.

The WRC team is generally silent. Zero statements, not a word about the future. The paid DLC for winter 2024 has now become winter 2024/2025 without comment. Now it would only be interesting to know when their winter ends. Astronomically or metereologically. Codies, find out for yourselves which of you is advantageous. Search engines help -.-
