Please respond.
- The properties of the exe file show the numbers 4.27.2.0...
So they're not even using the latest tech. I think I'll cancel my pre order.
i have read somewhere it's unreal 4.9 but ign france says it's unreal 5
so i don't know
despite numerous reports it appears the game is using UE4..... What a let down. Probably the reason they never responded.
What exactly is the let down? The game seems to run well on UE4, so what's the problem? It's bad just because it's not using the latest tech?

Yes. It's a brand new game it should be using the latest tech. Using Unreal Engine 4 is why the game looks so dated and bland.
the game may be newly released but development already started even before UE5 was out. besides, adopting quickly to new tech can have bad implications as well. unknown issues to the engine with no known fix will worry most devs. at the very least, UE4 is already mature in a way that it has been released for a few years now so technically speaking, UE4 has better support than UE5.
and before you mention porting over from UE4 to UE5, that will eat up development time since they also have to learn UE5.
@EmberagE: Nope, a game should use the appropriate tech. For having been in development for 4 years, apparently, UE4 was the right tech at that time.
Or would you rather end up with a new Duke Nukem Forever?
That would be a mistake, it's an amazing game. Far and away best racing game out there.
- @pizzacake15 they didn't give a damn about my answer and your explanation. But they read other sites and don't understand some things..
