Had this issue on a Dell Visor WMR headset as well, I had to switch to using Steam's OpenVR implementation of OpenXR, This however causes me to run into an issue unrelated to the game- where steamVR auto-binds the shift-up action on my shifter to Steam home which interrupts the game and makes play in VR impossible. 🤣

Running through SteamVR just causes it to crash for me
And I'd rather not run through an extra layer of software when it was running fine through WMR's OpenXR before the patch

Had the same issue with Reverb G2. Run fine on WMR OpenXR before. No popup after update. After switching OpenXR to SteamVR popup showed, but game crashed. Try lowering SteamVR resolution (globally or just for EA WRC). Start low and find your max. Mine is around 2700px.
i am having same issue - all was fine until update. have followed all suggested steps including lowering headset res to minimum and STILL steam VR crashes as soon as i click enable vr on the game start up. i have wasted 4 hours of valuable time on this. im so P'd off. its the only game i play and havent been able to play it since patch. EA please give a proper description of how to get around your latest patch disaster. HP REVERB G2

@ATACMS_00check your launch option for WRC in steam. Make sure you don't have
-vr
in the box. It used to work, now it just crashes

I'm running g2 no probs through steamvr but yeah, I guess they don't have time to code proper openxr native... Pity they blocked uevr from working too but I understand why i.e plugins and potential cheating. Still native openxr support should be a day 1 thing given we paid full price for an unfinished product. The gaul of some of these companies these days...

@Sokittoya76A technically it's still OpenXR, just with a steam layer on top.
Which of course is still a problem because I'm pretty sure that layer adds CPU overhead. I was not able to get a consistent 90fps no matter how low I dropped my resolution
CV1, and after the patch the game is not recognizing the headset being connected. Never got the VR prompt. I had to change the steam VR settings to use steam openxr instead of Oculus, so at least I can play but the performance is terrible. In game menus are constantly twitching and not rendering correctly, and on stage I am getting way more frame rate drops and stutters than I was before

Yes mate that's what I meant as it's not running native only the api through steamvr. Obviously!?! 🤔
Objects on low can gain a few fps whilst not really detracting anything. Turn crowd ultra low. Also there are some cvar tweaks you can add to the engine.ini to reduce load ie. shadow distance/ quality etc.

Chiming in to say I have the same issue - previously I would just launch the game (no steam vr running) and then the prompt would appear, now there's no prompt no matter what I try
I'm using WMR on a Samsung Odyssey+ HMD
