VR Mode WRC

In the February 2024 notes for the 1.5.1 Update, they do state, 

"Additionally, there is more to look forward to in the coming months:

• As mentioned previously, we are currently working on adding VR support to EA SPORTS™ WRC for PC only. We’ll reveal details once it is ready for release."

So at least it appears VR is still planned, as I was beginning to doubt it would ever be added.

Yeah, dont wanna rant coz basically the game is ok.

But the missing official VR support its a shame.

Is just clear that this game came out too early and beside the missing VR they struggle to bring the game in proper shape.

I cant complain coz i have a high end rig but the dev/publishers need to learn that this way of working will decimise their customers numbers.

Other studios learnt that already but here it seems not to be the case....

But hey.. some people never learn.

Looks like EA is not interested to increase their company reputation.

Wrc would be a good tool to do it but its far away to be in good shape.

And with the "lets be silent" tactics they are not interested on customers.

That's a good question, but in this forum we have until now never got a meaningful answer.

It is becoming more and more apparent that the purchase of Codemasters by EA means that we customers are left out in the cold.

Unfortunately, I also trusted the VR promise and have fallen for it so far. If I had waited right away, I would probably only have to pay 30% of the original price if VR ever comes.

BTW: The EA support is also a joke they have absolutely no knowledge about the products and can't therefore help.

I look every few days.  I haven't seen anything yet.  I've owned this game for months, and haven't been able to play 1 second of it.  Not having VR out "soon after release" is one thing, but not communicating to the players about it is way worse.  We are not looking for anything concrete, but something like "we are continuing to work on the VR implementation, and hope to release it in April, but this may change".  That would be great to hear something like that.  At least then, I know I didn't waste my money entirely.

Any news here?

Weeks passing by and still quiet from official side.....

Ive stopped playing it and if there should be a next iteration of this game i will not even think about to buy it if the VR mode is not available at release.

I am tired of such dev/publisher behavior (speaking generally).

Once you have the UEVR mod setup for the first time, it's not complicated at all.

I play WRC in VR exclusively and it's pretty awesome with the right settings. 

If anyone else like me, pre ordered and then did not play the game because they are waiting for VR then do what I just successfully did. Tell Steam the story and request a refund. Mine went through in a matter of couple hours.  Good Luck.

The VR mode should have come right at launch and not been added later.
With this approach, the few special aspects of the design for VR are not taken into account and the end result is a half-baked solution.

We can already play WRC in VR with UEVR, but we can also see that certain effects such as shadows, for example, don't work properly because they weren't properly taken into account in the game design.
