Alter's Q in Control LTM

I've come across players using Alter's tactical ability to get inside the crates or boxes of the home base (King's Canyon Map) and hide there for the rest of the game. They also place Alter's void nexus inside one of the crates so other teammates can join them ratting the other team's home base completely unseen. Apparently if you aim Alter's Q on the lower left edge of the crate, it would take you inside the crate and not pass through it. It was so annoying playing against it and actually feels cheat-y.
