Game causing Console to freeze and crash.

It's been 3 days since this new season came out and I'm running into a problem, while I played the game consistently and almost had no problems except this one outlier. Every few games Apex seems to cause my PS4 PRO to Freeze (screen freezes in place unable to close the application or turn my console off) having me to force a shutdown on my PS4 Pro. Today I had to do it 3 times because it seems no one has reported this problem which leaves the question WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT!?

I’m having this exact same issue, but only after the most recent update today. Was playing with two friends, me on PS4 and them on PS5. All three of us were having the same problem where the console freezes during character select and has to be restarted (though we didn’t always have the problem at the same time). Hadn’t had this issue before.
The game’s completely unplayable for us since the update. Not an especially helpful update lol.
