Not allowing me to play the game

Hi, I’m on xbox and whenever I try to play Apex what happens is I load into the game and when it comes to the beginning screen with continue, it won’t let me press it. Not only that but it won’t let me use any of my buttons. It’s like my controller isn’t working but I know it’s not that. I don’t why it does this but it’s been doing it forever. Mind you, this is the only game that does this. I have the Xbox Series X and nothing like this has happened before. I keep restarting but it still doesn’t work. All I want to do is play the game but this makes me not want to. Does anyone else have this problem?
