[PC] Multiple Reports: FPS Drops and Frame Pacing Issues Since Sept. 1

Platform: PC / Steam

CPU: Intel Core i5-11400

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
RAM: 32 GB
OS: Windows 11

Since around September 1, 2026, my FPS periodically drops from a stable capped 140 FPS to around 90 FPS for several seconds, then returns to normal.

The game feels much more sluggish than the FPS counter suggests, almost like 60 FPS, so this may be a frame pacing issue rather than a normal performance drop. The issue started suddenly even though I did not change my graphics settings.

I have already tried restarting the PC, verifying the game files, disabling overlays and Instant Replay, checking the video settings, and closing background applications, but the issue persists.

Other players have reported an almost identical issue beginning on the same day. Please investigate.

Can we get an official word about this being investigated? I'm throwing games in ranked right now with this problem.

  • I think I found a fix, atleast after doing below changes, I could play 3 hours yesterday without any perfomance issues at all, it might start again today, but it's something, before I had stutters every ranked game, please let me know if this works for you:

    1. Uninstall EasyAntiCheat, I erased both maps (I had the old EAC version and the new one/two maps on my PC), then reinstall it, it reinstalls immediately after running Apex Legends again.

    2. Go to Device Manager in Windows, locate Network Adapters, look for something called "Realtek PCIe FE / GbE / 2.5GbE / 5G / 10G Family Controller" or anything with that name, it's the driver for the Ethernet Internet for the PC, then delete the driver.

BEWARE, you have to download the new driver before deleting the old driver, because your internet will be wiped out on the PC, unless you have WiFi available.

Download the new driver here: https://www.realtek.com/Download/List?cate_id=584

    Choose this version:

Win10/Win11 Auto Installation Program (NDIS) - Not Support Power Saving

    10.80.20

    2026/08/28

    5 MB

After installation of both EAC and the new driver, restart your PC.
