battle pass not free item

You make a good point -- I doubt EA will listen (I wonder how much notice they take of posts on the forum!)

I havent got BF pro so have to work through locked items to get the free ones !!! (and the Pro ones still remain locked :(      )

I understand that you have to progress through the Battle Pass to reach the reward. My point is that if an item is labelled Free, it can be a little misleading. You still have to earn the required Battle Points before you can claim it, so it's not immediately "free" in the way the label suggests.

In my case, I only need to earn 21 Battle Points to reach that reward, and because it's marked as Free, I expected it to be available without any additional requirement beyond being on the free track.

Well, it is free once you complete the task of getting there ! -- looking at your image, you have to get 31 points before you 'earn' that free item
