Carry handle joke?
Seriously? Is the carry handle on the bottom rail of the m16a4 a joke? Or did some idiot use AI and thought that looks right.

That's intended as it's how the US military used to use them on the M16A4. If you search for it, you should see photos.
You are right. It was placed there durning training and to not loose it. It is still stupid to put it in the game.
