Challenges in hardcore mode don't progress anymore?

I've been playing since BF2. BF4 I took a liking to hardcore mode I enjoy the experience more than the regular modes. So it pains me when Im trying to complete challenges playing the game mode I enjoy and I get zero progression for the time I play. I hope that this is a bug that can be fixed very soon rather than intentional design for the game. Im definitely not going to buy another battle pass if playing the regular game mode is my only option for progression so I hope I can hear some feedback on whether or not we will have this fixed.
