Crash - Liberation Peak
Battlefield 6 crash — ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull / Access Violation (RTX 3080)
Game consistently crashes when loading Liberation Peak — all other maps work fine.
Crash dump shows:
bf6!ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull → Access Violation 0xC0000005 (read from 0x0)
Appears to be a null pointer inside the FSR2 upscaler code, even though upscaling is disabled in-game.
System:
- RTX 3080 (latest WHQL driver)
- AMD CPU, Windows 10 build 26100
- Steam version, DX12
Graphics settings:
TAA on, Upscaling OFF, FSR Frame Gen OFF, Dynamic Res OFF, Reflex ON + Boost, Future Frame Rendering OFF.
What I tried:
- Cleared all Battlefield 6 shader/config caches
- Verified files in Steam
- Clean driver reinstall (DDU)
- Disabled overlays and overclocks
Crash only happens on Liberation Peak while joining a match. Planning to test with -dx11 and by renaming ffx_fsr2_api_dx12_x64.dll to stop FSR2 from loading.
Can DICE confirm if FSR2 is still initializing on NVIDIA hardware even when disabled, or if there’s a Liberation Peak asset causing a null pointer?
Happy to share dump + dxdiag if needed.
