Deployable shield placement bug

The deployable shield has been extremely inconsistent with its placement since season 3 started. You used to be able to deploy it in many areas on many different surfaces. Nowadays, it's hard to tell where it can be placed because it is very consistent. You can try to go to areas that are extremely flat (like in the attached video) and it will still bug out.  There was no mention of any deployable shield placement restrictions listed in any patch notes so it must be a bug.

It's pretty easy to replicate this bug: Just play support with deployable shield equipped and try to deploy the shield in many areas, even flat areas. You will get "BLOCKED TERRAIN" in many locations that you used to be able to in seasons 1 and 2.

In season 1 & 2, you can place a shield here no problem, now in season 3 and 4, you cannot.Likewise for this and many other locations.

Hope to see this issue resolved soon as it is very frustration when you try to place a shield for cover and it bugs out, leaving you defenseless.

    Super annoying bug, been caught many-a-times with the shield unable to place and died because of it.

    Hi Reapermac,

    BigBoy here, just another Battlefield player.

    I love playing Support, but I have to agree that placing the equipment can sometimes be a bit of a struggle. I often find myself having to awkwardly move it around and search for the perfect spot before it finally decides to cooperate.

    There have been times where I'm looking down trying to place it and end up getting taken out because apparently the enemy is kind enough to wait while I finish my "professional construction project" on the battlefield. 😂

    Hopefully this gets looked at, because smoother placement would make the Support role even better and allow us to focus more on helping the team instead of fighting with the placement system.

    Before anyone says that the shield needs to be on completely flat areas to work you can still do this (and still can since season 1):

    Taken from Unitingg's stream today, As you can see, there is no issue with placing the shield on the side of this hill vs the ones in the original post where it is more flat.

    The inconsistency of this bug is frustrating.

    These types of bugs, and the fact that they stay in the game for months and months, are what convince me that the DICE devs simply do not play the game they develop. I am prettty sure everyone at DICE actually hate Battlefield as a franchise and even as a concept.
