I was having similar but slightly different issue, but found a fix. When I went into matchmaking (any), the game would crash back to desktop (no error message) as soon as a match was found. I couldn't get past the matchmaking screen. I could play the campaign just fine though. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game initially, and then also uninstalled the EA app. I also have a friend that uninstalled their EA app before playing the game and they had no issues. They have the same computer and graphics settings I do. The EA app was the only difference! Give that a try.

Thank you so much! I finally got the single-player campaign to work.
Closing the EA app fixed the issue. I have the game on Steam, so I don’t really need the EA app running in the background.- MossyJoke3 days agoNew Spectator
Hey I see that you fixed the issue with the single player crashing when you start it mine is doing the same thing, I also have it on steam as well and multiplayer works great just when I start the camping crashes.
When you say the EA app what do you mean by that? The only thing I see running EA wise is the Anticheat is that what you guys were referring to I tried to stop that and then it all closes out. When ever you get a chance I really appreciate it been trying for hours lol.

EA has an app, ( Origin launcher before) and you can buy and launch the game from there. That's what they mean. I have my Bf3,4 and 1 on there but I wanted this one on Steam. It has nothing to do with the crashes on Steam I assume because my EA is off and it launches through Steam. Hope that clears things up. My game still doesn't want to start the campaign tho.

Try completely exiting out of steam and then right click the icon to launch it as an administrator and then try running BF. I think the campaign closes the launcher and launches a separate campaign application but needs admin permission first. I know black ops 1 and mw2 do the same thing for campaign vs multiplayer mode
