I'm using both english and korean, and whenever i try to type something in in-game chat today after the patch, the game freezes. Keybinds aren't working at all, mouse is frozen too.
I tried to reboot my desktop, repair the game in ea app, disable using Unicode UTF-8 option in my keyboard settings, still didn't fix it
Same for me. Extremely frustraiting!
I am too lazy to connect my controller every time the chat gets stuck, so I unbound the "Enter" key from "open chat" and no more problems. Now I chat only typing "j".
Details: It is under Keybinds for your HUD, I unbound "All Chat", left it empty, and bound "Chat" from Enter to "j" which normally is "All Chat"
I've had issues with the chat for multiple patches now, never this bad. Before I couldn't chat. Now I can't move in the game after hitting chat.

Anytime I open in-game chat, the window won't close. The game continues but I can't close the chat window, can't move, fore my weapon etc and I'm forced to close the game. Very frustrating as I've wasted several xp tokens because of it.
I'm currently experiencing this too. Always had problems with chat since last year.

There's a really annoying bug with the in-game chat. When I try to type something to my friends during a match (by pressing Enter or whatever the bind is), the Windows mouse cursor appears on screen and the game completely locks up. I can't type anything, ESC doesn't work, Enter doesn't work, and I lose all control. The only way to fix it is to Alt+F4 and restart the game.
This happens randomly and it's super frustrating, especially in the middle of a fight.
Has anyone else encountered this chat freezing bug? Any temporary fixes besides force quitting? Hopefully DICE sees this and patches it soon.

I am writing to report a serious bug that is making the game unplayable.
While in a match, if I open the chat to type a simple message (for example: "supports drop random ammo"), the chat window stays open and freezes. I cannot close it, I cannot continue playing, and the only way to fix it is to ALT+F4 and restart the entire game.
This is incredibly frustrating, especially when it happens during intense matches. It completely ruins the experience and the competitive spirit of the game.
Please look into this and fix it as soon as possible. It's a game-breaking issue that shouldn't be happening.

If you happen to have a controller available, we've seen a number of players mention that plugging one into your PC should allow you to exit the stuck chat and continue playing. While more of a temporary workaround than an actual fix, that may be worth a try while we're looking into things from this end.
We'll update the thread once we have any additional details to share, thank you for hanging in there in the meantime.
