I'm also having this issue. Exactly as described.
Also happens when alt tabbing out of the game.
Only having this issue in Battlefield.
What I've tried:
- Rolling back and updating NVIDIA drivers.
- Checking event viewer and crash dumps (No crash dumps are generated and event viewer doesn't contain any logs that indicate why the system is freezing).
- Setting CPU / RAM settings to default in motherboard.
- Repairing game in steam, of course.
- Closing software that may interfere with the game, for example Docker Desktop
- When computer locks up resetting graphics drivers (Windows + Control + Shift + B). No typical beep or response, so the entire system is frozen, not just the display driver.
Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
- RAM: 128 Gb 4800 MHZ
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (Build 26200.7623 (25H2))
- Maybe unusual features enabled
- Hyper-V
- Containers
- WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux)
This issue is persistent and happens anytime I'm playing and alt tab out. Even on the main menu if I'm doing something in the background it causes a system freeze, requiring hard reset.
This didn't used to happen, I can't recall exactly what changed to make it start happening. It feels like a recent thing, about the past week.
