Mouse Pointer / Tank Reticle

I have only noticed this in the past week so either I have been oblivious to it or it has just started happening.  I play on PC with a controller but the mouse and keyboard are still attached.  It’s not a problem because the game recognizes the input and switches as needed although rarely touch the mouse.  Lately when I use one of the tanks the mouse pointer follows the tank reticle when aiming.  Even if I move the mouse pointer to a corner of the screen and then continue playing on controller the mouse pointer somehow ends up back in the middle of the screen following the tank reticle.
