Spotting Enemies Inconsistent

Trying to do the recon challenge to get spots on objectives and it works maybe 20% of the time. Sometimes it will work for the first few minutes of a game but as soon as I see the notification stops appearing when you get a spot then the bug starts. Sitting on the recon drone spotting already un-spotted enemies and they get the orange marker above their head but I don't receive the points for it or the credit towards the challenge. I don't know if it's even actually spotting for my team since there's no feedback from the game (No spot assist, no points for spots, and no challenge tracking.) It's been very annoying to do this challenge since I can only get 1-3 spots per game before it bugs out again.
