Steam BF6 connected to Xbox account

Hi all when i try to link my steam account on the EA webstie to my outlook(hotmail account) it says it is already linked to an xbox account which is the same xbox account that i am on and then when i go play  on the xbox account from my steam account it wont show the progress:

Your accounts can’t be linked because your Xbox account SiLeNtKiLla2219 already linked to your EA Account for ra*****@outlook.com. An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime.

That is my same xbox account i am on to try and play the free Redsec and the progress is not carrying over.
