Support bound to Ping+Grenade; Map Reset Zoom locks R3 (conflict)

Support items bound to Ping+Throwable and Map Reset Zoom tied to R3 create control conflicts (request: separate bindings)

I’m running into multiple control conflicts caused by certain actions being hard-linked to other actions instead of having their own independent bindings. I’d like to request that these be separated or made independently assignable.

1) Support items are baked into Ping + Throwable instead of having their own bind

Currently, Support items (airstrikes, UAV, etc.) are triggered by pressing Ping + Throwable together. This means the Support activation is tied to whatever buttons Ping and Grenade are assigned to, rather than being its own bindable action.

This creates problems because:

Players cannot choose a dedicated Support button or combo

Changing Ping or Grenade automatically changes Support

Some layouts create uncomfortable or accidental Support activations

Request:

Please allow Support items to be bound independently (like Gadgets), or allow players to assign the Support combo directly instead of deriving it from Ping+Throwable.

2) Map “Reset Zoom” is hard-bound to R3 and shares the same bind as Ping

On PS5, Reset Zoom on the tactical map is tied to R3 and cannot be changed. However, Ping in gameplay and Ping on the map share the same button binding.

If Ping is assigned to R3 (which many players prefer for quick marking while aiming), then:

Pressing R3 on the map resets zoom instead of pinging

It becomes difficult or impossible to ping locations on the map

Players are forced to choose between preferred Ping placement or usable map controls

I personally prefer Ping on R3 because it allows me to mark targets while aiming without having to release L2 to press L1. This is significantly more intuitive during combat.

Request:

Please separate Map Reset Zoom from Ping and make Reset Zoom independently bindable (or removable). I do not use Reset Zoom at all but cannot free R3 because of it.

3) Melee on R3 conflicts during firefights

If Melee is assigned to R3, it’s very easy to accidentally click the stick while aiming or firing. This often causes unintended knife swings or even full knife equips during gunfights, which is extremely punishing.

Because R3 is also desirable for Ping, players are forced into a tradeoff between:

Optimal Ping placement

Avoiding accidental melee

Map usability

These conflicts all stem from multiple systems sharing or baking actions into the same underlying button instead of allowing independent control.

Summary of requests:

Allow Support items to be bound independently from Ping+Throwable

Allow Map Reset Zoom to be rebound or unbound

Separate Map Ping from Gameplay Ping if needed

Reduce R3 multi-function conflicts (Ping / Melee / Map Reset)

These changes would significantly improve controller customization and prevent accidental inputs during combat and map use.
