The SS26 will not let me equip it

Grinding through the assault kit ive noticed that when you level something up you have to reset your game by closing out the game and coming back in to unlock your attachments or the next gun for the next assignment, however the SS26 is showing to be unlocked the challenge to unlock it is completed, however I can not equip it whatsoever. my friend she was able to equip hers without issue thinking we could possibly side step this glitch she dropped me her kit so I can try and progress the challenge to deal 5000 damage with the SS26.  that didn't work either. Stuff I've tried force closing bf6, hard resetting my console, clearing the persistent storage, completely uninstalled bf6, nothing has worked.
