Since a couple of weeks back, maybe a few days before patch 1.03, i noticed how the car started to short shift on its own. I've seen a couple of people say the same thing but i havent really seen any devs acknowledge this issue. It happens most notably in the wet, so i'm guessing that this could be an internal adjustment to help the players so they dont slide as much in the wet, but it also happens in dry conditions.
I play with no assists, only automatic gearbox and racing line, and after playing 350-400h per game since 2019, you can just tell when the car is shifting like a tenth or two too early.
This isnt a big issue by itself, but, with the never ending issue that is AI straight line speed and perfect traction, this shortshifting issue adds into that and makes the player lose a few kmh of top speed, making racing way worse than it should be.
Also, even if i dont do much online on these games, im guessing that this would be a problem for online races too. Manual shifts will always be better when matched against an automatic shift, but this seems like would make it unfair.
