Controller D pad issues

While racing my MDF permanently gets changed. Whether is it my front brake bias, overtake control and the other. It makes it very difficult to drive. If it was my sticks, I would understand calling this stick drift. But it's the D-pad that controls this and I'm not pressing anything because I am in the middle of racing. Usually taking corners where I notice it the most because my brake bias will continually change every corner.

Equally, this applies to speaking to my race engineer and switching between displays on the MDF (connected to the B button). It keeps switching between the normal view and Tyres. Very fequently.

I am playing on PC with an Xbox controller.

  • Hi mate, does seem an odd one.

Can only suggest one or two things to self diagnose. What does the controller look like in W10 or W11 devices? Try recalibrating in Game Controller properties?

Are they official XBox controllers or clones? Do they look different in Device Manager.

Try downloading Nirsoft USBDeView. You can plug in the errant controller to ID it then delete ALL instances of it. Let it redetect.

Final suggestion is it always the same USB port where it misbehaves? Try swapping / other ports. Remove any USB hubs, especially splitters and USB C to USB A. Try a USB 2.0 native port (all USB C are 3.x).

Can’t / don’t want to correspond about it but hopefully these suggestions work or rule more stuff out. Had to reply here as mailbox won’t send.

    Good luck.
