Error: Virtual Machine

Hello, I am using a streaming PC ("Shadow PC") and I have downloaded F1 25 (on Steam). However, when starting the game, the following security violation error appears: "Execution in a virtual machine not possible. Please exit the virtual machine and try again. (121)". Can someone help me with this issue? Reinstallation and troubleshooting have not helped. So far, all previous versions of F1 have worked. Until the new anti-cheat program was introduced. The system specifications meet all requirements. Thank you. Ryder

  • Yes, the Anti-cheat introduced in last year's game blocks the use of virtual machines so playing through a VM won't be possible.

  • Hello is there any way to email the developers so they can change this feature and be able to play the game on a virtual machine. Thank you.

  • This isn't something that can be changed unfortunately. The anti-cheat works by scanning a PC for changes to the game files or known cheating applications that are running in the background.

Since Virtual Machines allow for the creation of separate instances it becomes impossible for the Anti-cheat to know if it has scanned the whole PC or not which means it's impossible to know whether or not any cheat programs are running.

TLDR: enabling the use of virtual machines basically defeats the purpose of having an Anti-cheat in the first place.

There is no way for players to directly email the developers.
