i tried all the fixes i could see online but nothing worked for me. i was just about to request a steam refund. my documents folder was pointing to my NAS. when i restored it to the default, i could launch and play the game. i have been running f1 2019 - 2024 like this with no problems. this fixed my issue so good thing to check if all else fails.
Similar to MS 1D if you have it installed. I don't, it's a cancer.

don't get me started on one drive! i have to fight to make sure it is disabled on my windows computers every time and MS does not make it easy. cloud storage is fine for people who want to use it...i don't!
i have a NAS and keep all my pictures, videos and documents on it. i point these folders on my windows computers to the NAS. i ran all the F1 games i owned (19-24) with this setup and had no issues. something changed in 25. what i really wish is that there was some config to change the location of this folder "\documents\My Games\F1 25" so that I didn't have to lose my mapping to all my other documents and that I could just point this game's folder to a local drive. maybe there is some config option to change this location and if anyone knows, please share.
i think this game crash is caused my multiple underlying factors related to the anti-cheat because people have reported different "fixes" working for them. that makes it hard to troubleshoot. as a software developer, i understand how hard this can be. where EA is at fault here is not providing any meaningful logs or other messages to point us to the right solution when the game does crash and then just giving generic advice like make sure you are up to date.
good luck to all the people who still have the issue.
