Glad a fix is on its way but why is everything taking so slow? We've already waited over a week and now another 4/5 days just to apply the patch? This is one of those thing that should be corrected within hours, not two weeks ffs.

As much as we'd love to be able to distribute patches that fast, unfortunately there are circumstances out of control that affect how quickly this can be done.
The team worked quickly to identify the problem, test the fix, and get it ready for a patch. The worst thing we could do (other than cause the problem in the first place!) is rush out a patch and risk something else breaking.

Many people bought this game so they can do co-op careers with their friends! Why not just rollback the patch when people report that it is broken almost immediately???

As easy as it might seem, releasing a patch or a hot fix takes time. First, the team has to identify the issue and investigate it. Then, they have to fix it after identifying the problem and test the fix to make sure it is working and doesn't break other stuff.
As CM_TGK mentioned, we cannot rush out a patch. If the team released a patch that ended up breaking more things, then it would be a worse situation. We try to be as fast as possible without compromising the integrity of the game.
About your last question, a rollback is not always possible. Patches address a lot of things at the same time. Below you can see a list of some of the things the Patch addressed:
We understand that this patch created an issue with the Co-op mode, but removing it would mean that the rest of the issues it addressed would persist in the game.
I understand this is frustrating, but believe me when I say that the team is doing their best to give the best experience to all players.
