F1 25 crashes after EA Javelin AntiCheat - black screen on launch, then crash

Hello,

I am creating this report because I have found several users experiencing the exact same issue and EA Support informed me that similar cases are currently being reported.

Problem:

F1 25 worked perfectly for approximately 55 hours of gameplay. Around 1-2 weeks ago the game suddenly stopped launching.

When I press Play:

  1. EA Javelin AntiCheat starts normally.
  2. The splash screen appears.
  3. A black screen is shown for 1-2 seconds.
  4. The game closes instantly without any error message.

System:

- Windows 11 Pro 24H2

- Intel i7-14700K

- NVIDIA RTX 5070

- Steam version of F1 25

What I have already tried:

- Reinstalled F1 25

- Reinstalled EA App

- Reinstalled EA Javelin AntiCheat

- Verified game files through Steam

- Updated Windows

- Updated GPU drivers

- Tested with peripherals disconnected

- Disabled Intel integrated graphics

- Ran system integrity checks

Nothing changes the behaviour.

Event Viewer has shown different modules during testing, including Intel graphics related modules and Logitech TrueForce SDK modules, which suggests the crash may occur during initialization rather than being caused by a specific device.

Important:

The game previously worked correctly on the same hardware and software configuration. No major hardware changes were made before the issue started.

I would like to know:

- Is EA aware of this issue?

- Is there an active investigation?

- Can affected users provide additional information to help identify the cause?

If other users are experiencing the same behaviour (EA Javelin AntiCheat -> black screen -> instant crash without error), please comment below with your system specifications.

Thank you.

Thank you. Here are some suggestions. Launch the game after performing each step to see if it helped.

    • Repair EA AntiCheat. Go to F1 25\__Installer\EAAntiCheat and run EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe. Uninstall, AntiCheat then reisntall it and restart. Then, try launching the game again.

Perform a Clean Boot of windows and temporarily disable the following:

    • Voicemod
    • OBS
    • Streamlabs
    • MSI Center
    • MSI Afterburner
    • RivaTuner Statistics Server
    • Discord overlay
    • GeForce overlay
    • Overwolf
    • RGB software

Repair the game files by opening the EA App and going to Library > F1 25 > Manage > Repair

Clear the F1 25 settings. Go to Documents\My Games\F1 25 and rename this folder to F1 25_Backup and launch the game again.

Let me know what happens. Thanks!

I've already tried repairing and reinstalling the anti-cheat, but the problem isn't fixed; I also verified the game files on Steam, and that didn't work either.

You're welcome to try installing MSI Center and Voicemod again, but most likely, you'll get the original issue again with crashing.

You can try reinstalling the Season Pack. Just let me know if you have any issues.

Quick update: I uninstalled MSI Center and Voicemod, rebooted my PC and reinstalled F1 25. The game is now launching correctly again. I can reach the main menu, load into a race session and drive without crashing. I will continue testing, but so far the issue appears to be resolved. Do you recommend contunuing to test for few days before reinstalling MSI Center and Voicemod? Also, since the game is now working correctly, would you recommend reinstalling the Season Pack? Thank you.

Hello, Thank you for your reply. I have attached the DxDiag report as requested. For reference, F1 25 worked correctly for approximately 55 hours on this same system before the issue started. The game now launches EA Javelin AntiCheat, shows a black screen for 1-2 seconds and then closes immediately without any error message. Please let me know if you need any additional logs, reports or information. Thank you for your help.
